Bett Bollhoefer- Dec 2025 Newsletter
Hello Friends,
I hope you enjoy this jam-packed newsletter. I have a lot going on, and you can get involved in several of my projects.
2025 was a great year—maybe the best of my life. Why? Because it was a year of creativity, which is my favorite thing to do. How did it happen?
In January, I went to the All Out Comedy Theater with a desire to get back into improv. I went to their improv drop-in jam and saw a sign—it was for their Musical Improv 1 class, which started the next day. I went home and signed up. The next day, I began a nine-month journey into musical improv.
Jed Levine taught classes, each eight weeks long, from Jan to Sept. I got to know my classmates, and together we created some incredibly funny scenes. I never laughed so much.
The second part was my meditation practice, which I wrote about on my Substack.
That daily meditation practice created my daily writing practice, which turned into my weekly Substack—and has now become a YA sci-fi novel that is coming along beautifully.
I am so excited to see what comes next for me in 2026. How was 2025 for you? What do you plan for 2026? Please email me and let me know.
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to you and your family.
Bett
Call for Experimenters: Informal (just for fun) Joint Healing Study (Q1 2026)
I’m kicking off a small, real-world experiment in early 2026 based on a joint-healing protocol that worked remarkably well for my own injury—and I’d love your help.
If you have a joint that’s been bothering you (knee, hip, shoulder, ankle, wrist—you name it), I’m recruiting participants. I’ll send you a short video tailored to your joint, along with a simple protocol: 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes at night for 60 days.
The experiment officially starts January 15, 2026, and runs through March 16, 2026. In April 2026, I’ll be sharing insights and participant stories with the community.
If you’re curious to try this or know someone who might be, forward this to them and reply to this newsletter. This is user-based research, grounded in real bodies and real lives, and I’m excited to see what we learn together.
Remember, this isn’t considered an official scientific study because we won’t be doing a double blind placebo. This is just to try out this joint healing method to see if it works. Learn more about the technique at bettbollhoefer.com/blogs/healing-joints-how-to-actually-rebuild-them
Write me at bett@bettbollhoefer.com if you want to be part of the informal study. Let me know which joint hurts and any relevant history. Also include what activities you like doing normally and what you would like to do that you can’t right now.
I’m Being Featured in a Storytelling Event in January
If you’re local to the Bay Area, come see me. I’ve been asked to share a story on stage at The Monkey House in Berkeley on January 18th, from 2:00–4:00 PM. Address: 1638 University Ave, Berkeley, CA 94703
I’ll be presenting a new true story from my childhood in Key West, Florida. It should be hysterical.
I shared a story at their last event during their open mic. Here is a video from last time. My story is at minute 1:43: youtu.be/GGLad4PhubA?si=kzTLlS3QO53enyTw&t=6199
I am creating a brand new story to share at the event on the 18th.
Come Join Me at ICON 2026
In 2024, I was part of the committee that helped get ICON 2024 off the ground. It was such a rewarding event. It was 3 days of the most innovative, thoughtful folks coming together to talk and think about the next stage for humanity. I am so excited to be involved in the next event ICON is putting on. I am submitting a talk and will probably be doing more at the event.
Early bird tickets are available for a few more days.
ICON 2026 invites you into a living laboratory of CoEmergence.
Here at the edge, where theory meets embodiment,
We don’t wait for the future—we show up as the alchemists weaving it into being.
Join us in cultivating the resonant field where the magic of
embodied coherence creates the scene that creates our Future Humanity.
This incredible, unique event will be held from May 28th to 31st, 2026, in the beautiful town of Denver, Colorado.

Substack Article: An Alternative to Traditional Christmas
Looking for something fun during the holidays? Read my alternative take on traditional Christmas in my Substack this week. This piece isn’t directly from the book, but it is a prequel scene set a year before the first scene of the novel.

Call for App Testers
I’m thrilled to continue to share a project that combines two of my biggest passions — Technology and Health.
We finished up the first round of testing in December but I am still recruiting for the next round of testing which probably starts in March.
I’ve teamed up with a former GE colleague to build a brand-new health coaching app, and we’re looking for a few amazing people to help us test it out.
If you’re curious, love trying new things, and want to help shape a wellness tool before it launches — this is for you.
Here’s what we need:
Age 55 +
Have an iPhone
Can spend about 3 hours testing the app over 3 weeks (starting March)
Willing to do a few short surveys and two 15-minute Zoom calls to share your feedback
Total time commitment: under 2 hours
Timeline: March to April
What you get: A chance to help us create a useful health coaching app.
What’s the app about?
It’s a voice-based health coaching app — think of it as having a friendly coach in your pocket helping you make healthier choices.
If you’d like to join the testing group, send me an email at bett@bettbollhoefer.com —and we will invite you a call to learn more.
